Punk meets feminism at the next edition of our Sapphic Film Series at Villa Vida Café. 🖤 Join us for a free screening of Rebel Dykes, a documentary exploring the lives of a group of lesbians who helped shape a radical queer subculture in 1980s London. Through stories of friendship, sex, activism, nightlife, art and resistance, Rebel Dykes takes us into a world where punk collided with feminism and queer people created their own spaces, communities and ways of living. Rather than presenting queer history as something distant or polished, the documentary is told through the people who were there — the rebels who lived, loved, organised, partied and challenged expectations both inside and outside feminist movements. Everyone who wants to engage respectfully with sapphic and queer cinema. The series centres sapphic stories and experiences, but you do not need to identify as sapphic or queer to attend. Friends and allies are welcome too. ♿ Accessibility Villa Vida Café has a ramp at the Linke Wienzeile entrance and an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Seating is available for the screening, and the indoor café is non-smoking. Please note that the room will be darker during the film and the soundtrack will be played through the venue’s sound system. Come alone, bring friends or meet new people here.
