Day DJ is a weekly series at Villa Vida Café. Every Friday, local DJs take over the space and play daytime sets in an open, low-pressure environment. The focus is on new talent, experimentation, and community. This is not a typical club setting. You can drop in to listen, work, meet people, or stay for the full set. The idea is simple: create a consistent platform where DJs can develop their sound and connect with others. DJs have always played a central role in queer culture. In spaces where queer people were excluded, DJs built environments where identity and expression could exist. Through music, they shaped rooms, created connection, and guided shared experiences. Many of the sounds that define nightlife today come from queer communities, especially Black and Latinx scenes. House, disco, and club culture were not neutral developments—they were created in specific social contexts. Day DJ continues this lineage by making space for new voices and keeping that culture active. Day DJ Vienna-based DJ/producer Dee Diva is dedicated to bringing a breath of fresh air to Vienna's nightlife through a fusion of house, pop, hip-hop, and club music. Dee Diva's artistic blend of contemporary hip-hop and club music, incorporating elements of piano, baltimore, grime, afrobeats, hard drum, perreo, dancehall, and baile, aims to inject a new vibe into the nightlife scene. Think funky, piano, baltimore, grime, afrobeats, hard drum, perreo, dancehall, baile, and more. Vienna-based Dee Diva is a DJ/producer who strives to bring a fresh flavor to Viennese nightlife through a fusion of house, pop, hip hop and club music. Dee Diva, a Vienna based artist of Caribbean and American descent, strives to bring a new vibe to nightlife with a mix of the latest hip hop and club music, that is, not-so-serious music to dance to, think funky, amapiano, baltimore, grime, afrobeats, hard drum, perreo, dancehall, baile and more.
